Dr. McFarland has hired a new associate that we are all excited to be working with.
Meet Dr. Aaron Crossley!
You might be seeing Dr. Crossley around the office on the days that Dr. McFarland isn't working... We know he is excited to get to know you all!
Here are a few questions that we asked Dr. Crossley, so that you can get to know him, in the meantime.
1. Dr. Crossley, Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I grew up in Southeast Texas, but my wife and I have lived in DFW for over 7 years, so this is now home! We have 4 children, 3 girls and a boy: Our oldest is 6; we have 4 year old boy/girl twins, and our baby girl is 1 year old. Life at home is full of energy to say the least! After graduating high school, I spent 2 years in Alaska volunteering as a full-time church/ service missionary. I attended Brigham Young University for my undergraduate degree, then Baylor College of Dentistry for dental school, and stayed there for my orthodontic residency. Most of my time is spent at home with my family, but occasionally I’ll sneak away for some off-road biking or tennis.
2. What made you choose to go into the field of orthodontics?
When my wife and I were first married I was in my pre-dental courses at BYU while she worked in an orthodontic office. I spent a lot of time there and started to fall in love with the whole experience. Now that I’ve been treating patients for a few years, I love orthodontics because of the impact it has on the lives of those I get to work with! Whether it’s with a kid being teased at school, or with a mom who loves to take photos of her smiling kids but won’t smile in photos when it’s her turn, I have the rewarding privilege of making an impact by giving them a more confident, beautiful smile they can keep throughout their lives.
3. What is your favorite family time activity?
Swimming, movie nights at home, playing the monster or Big Bad Wolf while the kids run away screaming.
4. Do you have any pets?
No. We’re too busy with our 4 little ones! But I’m trying to convince my wife to let us get a Boxer puppy.
5. What is your favorite movie?
The Dark Knight Series. And favorite quote to go along with that. “Always be yourself…unless you can be Batman. Then always be Batman."
6. What's your favorite food?
Texas BBQ
