Braces-Friendly Recipe: Grilled Pineapple

temp-post-image

Try this incredible dessert out on the grill this week... I promise you won't regret it. Grilled pineapple is delicious by itself, but the addition of gooey caramel sauce, fresh mint, creamy vanilla ice cream, and a hint of lime will positively knock your socks off. This braces-friendly treat is a beautiful and creative way to get your daily servings of fruits in... At least, that's what I am telling myself!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 whole pineapple, peeled and cored
  • lime juice
  • caramel sauce, or dulce de leche
  • fresh mint leaves
  • ice cream

Instructions

  1. PREHEAT barbecue to medium.
  2. Cut pineapple into 8 rounds.
  3. Oil grill, then barbecue pineapple until grill marks form, 4 to 5 min per side.
  4. Squeeze fresh lime juice on top, drizzle with caramel sauce or dulce de leche, and sprinkle with fresh mint.
  5. Serve with ice cream, if desired.
