#1: Invisalign is invisible!
The number one thing that sets Invisalign apart from traditional braces is the fact that it is invisible! Invisalign aligners are made of a clear plastic material that is virtually impossible to see once it is in your mouth. Your friends, family, colleagues, and classmates will not notice that you are wearing aligners … as long as you don’t tell them, of course! The fact that Invisalign aligners are invisible means that they are a great option for busy professionals and students with reputations to maintain! They will not affect your personal style or image and will help you get great results discreetly!
#2: Invisalign can be more comfortable than traditional braces.
Because they are made of clear plastic and not metal, Invisalign aligners are WAY more comfortable than traditional braces. There simply are not any metal wires or brackets to cut, scrape, or otherwise irritate your cheeks or gums. They also do not require wire-tightening visits like traditional braces do. If you have ever known someone with braces, you have surely heard horror stories about not being able to eat due to the pain of having the wires tightened. With Invisalign, you will only ever experience a mild pressure when you change out your aligners every two weeks. No pain!
#3: Invisalign is convenient.
Did you know that Invisalign aligners are also 100 percent removable? You can (and should!) take them out of your mouth to eat, drink, and to brush and floss your teeth. They can also be removed for special occasions (i.e. date night). Invisalign aligners will simply never be in your way. They don’t restrict the types of foods you can eat or the experiences you can have!
Be warned, however, because you DO need to wear them for at least 22 hours every day in order to get the most out of your aligners. Don’t take them out TOO often, or you will not get the desired results. If you think you may have trouble keeping your aligners in your mouth, Invisalign may not be the best option for you.
#4: Invisalign often works faster than traditional braces.
Traditional braces typically take about 2 or 3 years to produce results. With Invisalign, you can get great results in just about 12 months! That’s potentially HALF (or less!) the time it may take traditional braces. Of course, the exact time frame will entirely depend on your specific situation and needs, but 12 months is the average and usually a reasonable goal.
#5: Invisalign produces beautiful results!
Invisalign is powerful enough to produce the same great amazing results as traditional braces! Retainer use is still required, but you can get a straight, beautiful, high-quality smile without the brackets and wires! However, please know that Invisalign is not for everyone and may not be suited to your orthodontic needs. Invisalign is great for tackling mild to moderate misalignment and bite issues, but not severe or complicated problems.
Let our team at McFarland Orthodontics examine your situation and determine if Invisalign is right for you. If it is NOT the best option for you, we can STILL help you get the results you need with clear or traditional braces.
